Message All the screws holding the ring gear backed out, until the ring gear was loose and the engine wouldn't start. Flywheel was installed about 15k miles / 10 years ago. Not a cheap flywheel.

Interestingly the screws holding the insert plates were mostly still tight, except for two. Maybe because they were threaded directly into aluminum rather than helicoils.

I think I'm done with aluminum flywheels. I replaced this one with chromoly from Action Clutch, it's one-piece and looks nicely made.
